Meeting Minutes - 21/09

Thanks to Zetos for making a report himself.

I was halfway through mine and he saved me the time of writing the rest of it!


Agenda:

• Discussion on the Tech Division. Feedback is needed on whether or not it will help. A topic/forum that will allow members to report bugs and mention things they want the tech people to work on would be good, but we need to figure out what kind of magnitude this project will work at.
• Announce this American Thanks Giving week as Zombie Populating week. If the Elites can spear head that it will be a stronger message.
• Promotions.
• Address our general conduct rule, there are numerous members who have a 'loose' tongue whether it be over being freekilled or a petty argument its really not acceptable and we need to clamp down on this behaviour that usually occurs when none of us are present.
• Record.
• Admin power discussions, making Freeze Level 2.
• Voteban length (mostly asking for suggestions).
• Clan alliances, bring up the idea, receive feedback.
• Discuss/inform some things about RCON possession.
• Ideas to update the servers.

Minutes:

• ZM Server:
  • Thanks Giving Zombie Week - Help populate the server!
  • Few mods were suggested but were pushed to the forums as it was extending the topic.
  • There was talk about people inviting and needing to join. (Population)
  • There was talk of TF2 not trying to pull the CS:S people away from Zombie Mod to populate the TF2 server during Thanks Giving weekend.
  • The thought of closing the server, some were against some were for. (Server)
  • Turning it to Vanilla pub server was also brought up. (Server)
  • Trying out various mods for a week or two, seeing how they perform, then changing the server to the best one fully.
• Tech Division:
  • Idea was received quite well.
  • Question: "So if we know someone who is not in the clan who is good at coding they could apply for the tech division and get in?"
    Answer: "No, they need to be trusted members as the codes will be dealing with servers and having rcon or making codes could screw up the server completely."
  • Question: “So how do the people apply?”
    Answer: “They will be tested for their knowledge on the subject; if they are trusted or not. Whether or not they will attribute time to help, time is needed to be given to help in the tech division."
  • Question: “What if there is a problem with a mod and it starts screwing up the server?”
    Answer: “There should always be backups, and the person should restore it to it’s old version asap, that means within a few minutes after they've uploaded the messed up one, he should be uploading the older one.”
  • Question: “Can the tech division change things whenever?”
    Answer: “They can change minor things, but major things must be put past an Elite first.”
• RCON Responsibilities And Restrictions:
  • People are not allowed to give the RCON passwords to anyone else. Elites only permissions on this!
  • RCON is a responsibility not a power, and is to be treated as such.
• Promotions:
  • Discussion of the recruit time took place here for most of it, coming around to most people settling on the thought of two weeks instead of the end of the month. There is no change yet but it is being considered.
• Conduct Rules:
  • There was talk on what people should do when they are met with someone being disrespectful. This included being respectful the entire while (in order) 1) telling the person to stop 2) (If they do not stop) Contact and admin and tell them the problem 3) (If there is no admin online in your friends) Record a demo and then go to the server forum and report the person.
  • There was also discussion of what should not be done. This included, do not swear off at them, do not have spasms, do not freekill, once again general respect and conduct.
• Admin Power Freeze:
  • Many people agreed with moving the admin freeze to Level 2 admin. Many find it more useful than slap and slay.
• Voteban length:
  • Settled on 1 day.
• Alliances:
  • Feedback still needs to be given on ideas for alliances. How they would work, etc.
  • Team2Play was suggested as a medium for inter-clan alliances.

I hope to have the promotions and up to date roster out by the end of this week at most!
